PLANNED GIVING COMMITTEE

Your Planned Giving Committee was formed in 2006 in order to establish an Endowment Fund to account for gifts received from members and friends of BBUMC. The purpose of this Endowment Fund is to provide lasting and long-term financial resources to your Church. The purpose of the Committee is to promote and oversee the Fund. We meet at least once every quarter, and recently more often. The Committee By-Laws stipulate that no disbursements be made from the Fund until the principal is more than $100,000. This is a lofty goal, but, with God's blessing, one which we sincerely hope to attain. Currently the Fund is less than $20,000 ... but that does not mean that it is sitting idle. Your Committee is dedicated to making it increase in value, and we are in the process of considering investment strategies to ensure that it will do so. However, as stated above, overseeing the Fund is but one of the Committee's responsibilities. We are also charged with the privilege of promoting the Fund. And so we would like to take this opportunity to ask for your prayerful consideration of including Big Beaver in your will. Other means of contributing to the Fund (trusts, bequests) are also available, and we would encourage you to speak with a Committee member at any time with regard to any aspect of the Fund. The Church has been blessed by the kind and thoughtful gifts that have brought the Fund to its current level, and we pray that the Fund will continue to grow, and that BBUMC will always be a faithful servant of the Lord in our community and far beyond.
